Army Family Child Care (FCC) is a child care option for children 4 weeks to 12 years of age provided in homes of military family members or civilians both of whom work as independent contractors in their individual housing unit located on a military installation.

In addition to the standard child care programs, FCC Homes can meet the needs of families with unique child care requirements including evening, weekend and flexible/extended hours. FCC is a comfortable family like setting where learning activities are based on real life experiences. In FCC, siblings can stay together, younger and older children learn from each other in a small group setting, and school-age children can remain in a neighborhood setting.

FCC providers receive the same training and support as facility based staff and their homes meet specific requirements for health, fire prevention, safety, and activities. FCC providers and family members (over the age of 12 years) pass stringent background checks, are certified and inspected regularly by Army Child & Youth Services.

ARMY CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS (AGES 6 WEEKS to PRESCHOOL)

Army Child Development Centers (CDCs) are on-post facilities that reduce stress on Families and support workforce readiness by offering full-time, part-time and hourly child care services. Rich and stimulating age-appropriate environments help children develop cognitive, motor, social, and emotional skills. Learning activities provided through individual, small and large group experiences support the natural development of children. A research-based curriculum ensures children develop school readiness skills.

ARMY CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS (AGES 6 WEEKS THROUGH PRESCHOOL) Army Child Development Centers (CDCs) are on-post facilities that reduce stress on Families and support workforce readiness by offering full-time, part-time and hourly child care services. Learning activities provided through individual, small and large group experiences support the natural development of children. A research-based curriculum ensures children develop school readiness skills.

ARMY SCHOOL AGE PROGRAMS (AGES 6-12 YEARS; grades Kindergarten to 6). Army School Age Care (SAC) programs include before and after school, weekend activities during the school year, and camps during school vacations. Full day care is also provided during school out days. Through partnerships with national youth serving organizations such as 4-H and Boys and Girls Clubs of America, SAC programs help children develop their strengths and interests and a positive self-esteem, as well as making new friends and growing as individuals. Programs are offered in the core areas of leisure, recreation and the arts; sports and fitness; citizenship and leadership; and mentoring and support services. The SAC program works with local schools to ensure that classrooms subjects are reinforced in monitored before and after school environment in SAC technology and homework centers. Hourly care at SAC may be available for parents requiring intermittent child care, not to exceed 5 hours per week, per household.
