Work with Military Children

Learn how to find career opportunities with DoD child and youth programs as a family child care provider, a community-based provider, or a child and youth employee.

Become a Family Child Care (FCC) Provider

If you’re looking for an opportunity to start your own business that allows you to work from home, set your own hours, spend time with your children, and serve your local military community, becoming an FCC provider may be the career option for you!

FCC providers are DoD-certified child care professionals who care for children in their homes. Family child care offers a warm, home environment with a small group size and flexible hours to meet the diverse needs of military families.

As a provider, you choose the age groups and types of care that work best for your business. The FCC program at your local installation is there to help you every step along the way. You will have access to DoD trained mentors and support resources, training opportunities, and a network of childcare professionals.

Become a Community-Based Provider

Providers in the local community play a valuable role in serving military families. By becoming a participating provider in the DoD’s Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) fee assistance program, your business provides a valuable service to our military community. The MCCYN program is designed to help military families who do not have access to on-base child care services find and afford child care in their local communities.

As a participating MCCYN provider, you make your services accessible to over 250,000 military families via MCC’s secure platform. Not only is this an opportunity to grow your child care business, it’s a chance to join a trusted network of DoD-approved caregivers who provide vital support to America’s service members.
