Programs: School Liaison
Resource Type: General, Policy
Published: 01/09
Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC) (N912) child and youth programs (CYP) is required to establish a Youth Sponsorship Program. To meet this requirement, Child and Youth Education Services (CYES) will be implemented Navy-wide in Navy Child and Youth Programs to address Youth Sponsorship and K-12 education issues for Navy Families. CYES will use School Liaison Officers (SLOs) to assist with the delivery of installation programs and create school-based programming to military associated preteen and teenage youth. Staffing of SLOs will be based on the CNIC (N912) approved Staffing Model. CYES programs will provide opportunities for involvement of children of Sailors and civilian employees that are integrated with local education agencies (LEA).
