The Council of Professional Recognition has developed the Child Development Associate and Military School Age credentials to improve the quality of child and school-age care programs. CNIC CYP will continue to provide supplemental funding to offer CYP employees and CDH Providers an opportunity to continue their training and receive recognition from a national organization. CNIC (N926) has established a centralized contract with the Council of Professional Recognition to streamline the process for funding the CDA and MSA credentials. Enclosures (1) through (4) provide the processes for participating in this opportunity.

Conditional Employment Health Screening Certification - Navy Child and Youth Programs

Candidates for CNIC CYP may be brought onboard by Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) Human Resource Offices (HRO) prior to completing the health screening requirements on a conditional basis. Physicals will be scheduled immediately at hire, and completed within 60 days of the onboard start date.

DoD Child Development Program Fee Ranges

Section 1793 of title 10, United States Code, requires that DoD prescribe uniform fee regulations for Military Child Development Center (CDC) and School-Age Care (SAC) programs. In addition, pursuant to DoD Instruction 6060.02, "Child Development Programs (CDPs)," August 5, 2014, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs shall annually review and issue a child care fee policy based upon total family income (TFI) for use by programs in the DoD child development system of care.

The Navy CYP Enrollment and Record Keeping Standards provide CYP professionals with specific information and guidance regarding requirements for record keeping and file maintenance for enrolled children and CYP professionals.
