Navy Child and Youth Programs (CYP) has concluded a multi-year pilot to update and revise the inclusion process. The goals of the pilot were to streamline services for patrons with dependents who have disabilities: emotional, behavioral, or developmental identified needs, and to allow Navy CYP to utilize a team approach to support inclusion. Navy CYP is implementing inclusive practices to meet the legal requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Vehicle Registration Letter (POV)

This policy letter replaces reference (b) COMNAVPERSCOM ltr 1700 PERS-659 of 15 Nov 02 and updates policy and guidance for official use of POVs by CDH employees. OPNAVINST 1700.9D requires Child Development Home (CDH) staff to visit homes at least monthly. The following information answers questions concerning the use of a privately owned vehicle (POV) by a CDH employee or a CDH provider while performing official duties.

Fire and Safety CDH Requirements Firearms Policy Letter

All firearms in Navy certified Child Development Homes must be inaccessible to children and lawfully registered according to State and Navy installation regulations. Effective immediately, CDH providers shall disclose to all parents both verbally and in writing if there are firearms on the premises. CDH Providers must update their current contacts with firearms statements as directed in the policy letter and verify the presence of firearms using the CDH Program Provider Agreement - CNICCYP 1700/82.

Parent Handbook Policy Letter - October 2017

The Navy CYP Parent Handbook policy letter indicates that programs are required to provide a handbook to parents which outlines CYP program policies and procedures for children participating in Navy CYP. The standardized handbook has been updated to assist program directors in meeting this requirement and to ensure a standardized message is articulated to families registered in Navy CYP. Programs are required to use the updated Parent Handbook by 31 January 2018.
