Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Clubs of America's premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club and Youth Center members. The application includes an overview, eligibility requirements and application process, scoring framework, job description, checklist, and various application materials. Additionally, a fillable flyer is provided for CYPs to advertise and engage teens to participate in the BGCA Military Youth of the Year (MYOY) program.

The Child and Youth Behavioral Military & Family Life Counselor (CYB-MFLC) consent form must be signed by parents to allow the MFLC to work with children enrolled in CYP.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) National Youth of the Year (YOY) Program is the premier recognition program for Navy Youth Programs teen members. The BGCA YOY Program promotes service to Navy Youth Programs, community and family, academic success, strong moral character, life goals, and poise and public speaking. In September 2012, BGCA added the BGCA Military Youth of the Year (MYOY) Program. In order to support the implementation of the BGCA MYOY, program requirements (Enclosure 1) and a Sample Plan of Action and Milestones (Enclosure 2) have been developed to support installation personnel. Programs are required to implement the BGCA MYOY Program starting in FY2014.
