The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Public Health Association (APHA), and the National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care and Early Education (NRC) have released the Fourth Edition of Caring for Our Children: National Health and Safety Performance Standards; Guidelines for Early Care and Education Programs. These national standards represent the best evidence, expertise, and experience in the country on quality health and safety practices and policies that should be followed in today's early care and education settings.

The Council of Professional Recognition has developed the Child Development Associate and Military School Age credentials to improve the quality of child and school-age care programs. CNIC CYP will continue to provide supplemental funding to offer CYP employees and CDH Providers an opportunity to continue their training and receive recognition from a national organization. CNIC (N926) has established a centralized contract with the Council of Professional Recognition to streamline the process for funding the CDA and MSA credentials. Enclosures (1) through (4) provide the processes for participating in this opportunity.

Navy Child and Youth Programs standardized positions descriptions (PDs) are required to be use for all Navy CYP operations. The CYMS Staff Records User Guide is designed to assist CYP employees in creating and maintaining CYMS Staff Records. This User Guide provides steps and instructions on how information is to be added and maintained in the CYMS Staff Module.
This policy letter and attachment provide requirements and guidance for the utilization of the Family Child Care Certification Managment System or FCC-CMS. All FCC programs must use this tool to track and monitor FCC Provider certification processes from initial interest to full certification.
