CYP Volunteer Online Orientation Training Course

The Child and Youth Volunteer Orientation provides the basic essentials volunteers need to know before working with children and youth.

This learning event will provide a foundation for understanding the basics of: 

  • Volunteer support to the CYP Program 
  • The roles and responsibilities of a CYP volunteer 
  • The Systems of Care 
  • Ages and stages of children and youth 
  • CYP inclusive practices 
  • CYP Guidance and Touch Policies and how volunteers can support positive behavior within CYP Programs 
  • Identifying and reporting child abuse 
  • CYP health and safety policies and procedure 

Before you begin, we recommend you review the systems requirements for this e-learning course. This course does include video and audio narration. 

This course is estimated to take approximately 60-90 minutes to complete. 

**PLEASE NOTE: A certificate will display at the end of the course. You must save a copy of this certificate and provide it to your local CYP program as documentation of course completion. Some options for saving a copy of this certificate include: 

  • Taking a screen shot of the certificate and saving as a photo or copying and pasting the screenshot into a word document. 
  • Right clicking on the certificate and clicking print to print the certificate
