The Youth Staff Training Program is a series of self-study training modules that form the core of the Navy Foundation Training Program for Program Assistants working with youth in sixth ΓÇô twelfth grades. The competency-based training modules equip Program Assistants with the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful working with youth and include real-life situations faced by middle school and teen youth every day.

This guide will show you the importance of following policies and procedures and encouraging youth to take healthy risks. It will also explain the importance of community in creating and maintaining a safe environment. The Table of Contents below will give you an overview of what you'll be covering.

This module is designed to provide you with basic information and insight concerning the most common health-related subjects you'll encounter as a Program Assistant.

Module 6: Communication - Every single day, you draw upon communication skills to interact with youth and coworkers. This guide will show you the importance of practicing effective communication skills and modeling those skills for youth.

Module 7: Creativity and The Arts - Programs and activities connected to creativity and the arts are usually quite popular with youth. Combined with other interests of youth such as technology and science, programming in the arts is a great way for youth to build relationships, life skills and self-esteem.

On 22 August 2014, the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) launched various updates to the Navy CYP Chapter Utilities section of the NAYS Chapter Management Website. In response, CNIC CYP (N926) hosted two (2) GoToWebinars to provide a tutorial of the newly designed features and functionality of the Navy CYP Chapter Utilities section of the NAYS Chapter Management Website. The target audience for this training is Youth Directors, Assistant Youth Directors, Youth Sports and Fitness Coordinators, Teen Coordinators, and direct care staff who are responsible for assisting in the execution of Navy Youth Sports and Fitness (YSF) programming.
