The U.S. Department of Defense offers non-medical counseling through two programs: Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) and Military OneSource. This study set out to answer the question of whether non-medical counseling programs are effective in improving program outcomes and if effectiveness varies by problem type and/or population. This report provides detailed findings of RAND NDRIΓÇÖs analysis based on two surveys provided to program participants.

Gilman-McCain Scholarship for Undergraduate Children of Active Duty Military Personnel

The U.S. Department of StateΓÇÖs Gilman-McCain Scholarship provides awards of $5,000 for undergraduate child dependents of active duty service members to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs. Developed under the framework of the State DepartmentΓÇÖs Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program, the John McCain International Scholarship for the Children of Military Families (Gilman-McCain Scholarship) is open to eligible students enrolled at accredited U.S. colleges and universities who receive any type of Title IV federal financial aid.
