United Through Reading
Navy CYP continues to strengthen connections between military families and their children through United Through Reading. The new partnership helps service members stay connected during deployments, training, and other periods of separation by giving them the opportunity to record themselves reading for their children. As part of the partnership, resources will be distributed to CYPs across the enterprise for use in replenishing CYP bookshelves, supporting lending libraries, and providing materials for special events. The initiative will deliver 25,000 books for children and teens, 165,000 bookmarks, 100,000 literacy guides, 40 recording events, and 24 mobile story stations to Navy CYPs, helping families build literacy skills, create lasting memories, and maintain connections, no matter the distance.
