Early Care and Education (ECE) professionals play a critical role in creating high-quality learning environments for young children. Yet turnover within the ECE workforce remains a significant challenge. Frequent staff changes can disrupt children’s learning and development, while also impacting program operations—leading to scheduling difficulties, increased workload and stress for remaining staff, and decreasing the overall financial health of the program. However, program leaders can help reduce turnover and foster workforce retention by implementing practices that support ECE professionals’ well-being and professional growth. In this webinar, we will highlight some of the latest research on factors that impact ECE workforce turnover and share evidence-based strategies that support retention, such as fostering respectful and caring work environments. We will also discuss how leaders can implement these strategies within their programs and highlight VLS tools and resources to support implementation.

This training is designed primarily for Program Managers, Training & Curriculum Specialists, and other CYP program leaders. To attend, you must have a Virtual Lab School (VLS) account.
