Say “Yes” to Military-Connected Families

The demands of military life, make it particularly difficult for military-connected families to find the child care they need when they need it.

The Department of Defense (DoD) partners with community child care programs through the DoD Child Care Provider Network (CCPN) to expand the supply of high-quality child care options for military-connected families to ensure they can find the quality child care they need, when they need it, wherever the mission takes them.

As a CCPN member, you become part of a trusted network of more than 10,000 state-licensed and accredited child care providers providing vital support to America’s service members. When you join the CCPN, your services will be visible to over 300,000 military-connected families through MilitaryChildCare.com (MCC).

When military-operated care is unavailable or full, military-connected families can use MCC to find CCPN providers where they live. If a CCPN provider has a vacancy, the family can enroll as a private pay family or enroll as a DoD’s Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) fee assistance program participant, should the provider choose to accept MCCYN fee assistance.

Submit the DoD Provider Interest Form

    • Submit this request form.
      • Note: DO NOT SUBMIT the Provider Interest form if you have a minimum quality rating with a participating state and, thus, qualify for the MCCYN-PLUS program. If you qualify for MCCYN -PLUS, your state has already shared your information with MCC and you have been added to the DoD Child Care Provider Network. To see if you qualify for MCCYN-PLUS, review the "DoD-Approved Participating States and Quality Ratings" section at the bottom of this page.
    • An administrator will verify your information and determine eligibility.
      • Once your credentials are verified, you will be listed on the MCC DoD Child Care Network page. Your business will be visible to all families.

    Say, "Yes!"

When you agree to enroll a military-connected family who receives MCCYN fee assistance, the family will inform the MCCYN administrator. The administrator will work with you and the family to confirm that your program meets the MCCYN requirements.

Submit Financial Documents to Ensure Payment

The MCCYN administrator will email you to request pertinent financial information so you can receive DoD payments for your services.

Accept Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) Fee Assistance

To make sure military-connected families can easily access quality, affordable child care, DoD and the Coast Guard fund the MCCYN child care fee assistance program. This program offsets the cost of community child care for military-connected families when military-operated care is unavailable. MCCYN provides military-connected families with critical financial assistance so they may afford quality care from local providers.

Through MCCYN, DoD pays a portion of the child care costs to community providers on the family’s behalf based on their income. DoD reimburses providers who participate in MCCYN for the care they provide to eligible, participating military-connected families, like how states reimburse providers who serve families who participate in their state child care subsidy system. The family is responsible for the tuition balance.

Note: Most military-connected families will need a CCPN provider that accepts MCCYN fee assistance.
